Two US Senators are questioning the methods of the Trinity Guardrail testing that is occurring in Texas. Senators from New York and Connecticut are claiming that Trinity Industries has failed to answer many questions raised. There have been claims that the guardrail tests which are being conducted are not using current safety standards. A whistle blower also had similar questions and issues with the Trinity Guardrail tests last week. The New York Times obtained the Senators Guardrail letter which was addressed to the federal agency. Already, more than 30 states have banned any new installations of Trinity guardrails until this questionable testing is completed. But in the meantime there are thousands of Trinity Guardrails along highways in many states. These defective guardrails can pierce cars and trucks causing serious injury and in some cases death. In the senators letter it claims the agency “fails to grasp the primary goal of testing.” In addition to concerns about the version of guardrail being tested, there are concerns that testing is not being conducted at the proper angles that would best simulate a standard car accident.
There have been accidents reported around the country where victims have been injured, lost limbs and in some cases died when impaled by these guardrails. If you or a loved one have been involved in an accident where a Trinity Guardrail was involved, you may be entitled to compensation. There have already been a number of Trinity Guardrail lawsuits filed around the United States by drivers who have been seriously injured in a guardrail accident.
