Federal Government Asks for Information On Trinity Guardrails

The Federal Government is collecting information on Trinity Guardrail accidents by asking the general public for information on accidents. On December 24th a notice was published asking any victims of Trinity Guardrails to submit information via a public online portal. Part of the notice reads: “We are seeking crash reports, photographs of damaged ET Plus devices at crash scenes, photographs of vehicles at crash scenes that impacted ET Plus devices, and crash reconstruction reports with corresponding data.”

In addition to crash data, the government also is asking for information on the dimensions of the Trinity Guardrails involved in the accidents.

There is a simple registration system and then users can post information to share regarding their Trinity Guardrail accident. There have already been a handful of comments including a man in Canton, Texas who was critically injured when his vehicle crashed into a Trinity Guardrail. The commenter also posted a copy of the Trinity Guardrail Accident Report.

There have already been Trinity Guardrail lawsuits filed around the country. Many states have baned any new installation of Trinity Guardrails until further testing could be done. Some states have already begun the costly process of replacing Trinity Guardrails.

Government Reviewing Trinity Guardrail Crash Data

In addition the FHWA stated it is now investigating over 200 Trinity Guardrail accidents that have been documented by Joshua Harman, the whistle blow who won a lawsuit against Trinity in October. Mr. Harman is responsible for alerting the Federal Government to the fact that Trinity Industries made a design change with out alerting proper authorities.
