Lawyer Brent Coon appeared on KFDM Channel 6 in Beaumont to discuss his filing of guardrail lawsuits against Trinity Industries. In part the story reads:
Chris McGuire's life changed in moments when he hit a guardrail head on in Chicago in 2009.
"The design doesn't make any sense to me," McGuire said. "It looks like a death trap. It looks like its there to kill you," he said.
Instead of the guardrail absorbing the impact, it impaled McGuire's vehicle leaving him with lifelong injuries.
Local attorney Brent Coon is representing McGuire and the families of three other people who died in accidents involving the ET plus guardrail.
"It would be better to have no guardrail at all then the type of guardrail that is there," Coon said. "The guardrail itself became the weapon and penetrated the vehicle and killed the persons inside them," he said.
