The whistle blower than won a massive lawsuit against Trinity Industries over their guardrails is now saying the new crash test mean absolutely nothing. Josh Harman spoke with ABC 13 in Lynchberg Virgina on Wednesday in an exclusive interview. Harman said it is his goal to have the government do a full Trinity Guardrail Recall. "(The guardrail) will impale the vehicle. The guardrail will go through the car, sometimes cutting off legs, limbs, and ultimately the ultimate sacrifice" said Harman. The ABC 13 reported a number of the Trinity Guardrails on the highways in Viriginia. They also reached a VDOT Spokesman who stated that Virigina may go ahead and remove the possibly defective Trinity Guardrails but will await the results of the crash tests.
Josh Harman stated to ABC 13 News that the Guardrails being tested in these critical crash tests are NOT the same guardrails that are on the roads. The guardrails that are currently being tested are a new version that Trinity created in 2012 and have signifigant design changes. These new guardrails have a different dimension which will effect how the guardrails perform in a crash. If Virgina does remove all the Trinity Guardrail, there is no estimate on how long that will take and how much it will cost the taxpayers.
